Sayagaki: “Yamato Shizu, blade length two shaku one sun two bu (64.24 cm or 25.28 in). This piece is in the style of Uchigatana Koshirae, formerly in the collection of Mr. Honda Eiga, and later annotated by Kaunzan.”

We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo Saku, Jyojyo Saku, Jyo Saku, and Regular Saku. This piece is ranked as Saijyo Saku, particularly for a Mumei (Yamato Shizu).

Habaki: Gold foiled double Habaki.
Blade length: 64.24 cm (25.28 in).
Curvature: 1.67 cm (0.66 in).
Mekugi Hole: 3.
Width at base (Motohaba): 3.02 cm (1.19 in).
Width at the tip (Sakihaba): 2.48 cm (0.98 in).
Thickness of rim (Kasane): 0.75 cm (0.30 in).
Sword weight: 615 grams.
Era: Nanbokucho period.
Shape: O-Suriage Mumei with a slightly wide body and regular thickness, featuring a rounded spine and well-defined ridge line, leading to a pronounced point.
Jigane: Fine Itame Hada well-forged, showing a pale reflection of the white steel.

Hamon: Nie-deki Gunome Midare with soft and deep ashi, double edges, and fine gold lines, with chaotic patterns in the Kissaki.

Features: Yamato: Shizu-Saburo-Kaneuji was a swordsmith of Tegai School, thought as a pupil of Masamune in Soshu province, later moved to Mino province from Nara in Yamato province and prospered with his school. Yamato-Shizu is the general term for the School before moving. In the narrow sense, it means only Kaneuji.

Tsuba: Appears to be made by Rakujyu.
Sekigane: Two pieces, raw copper base covered in gold.
Fuchikashira: Silver base with linear patterns.
Saya: Red lacquered scabbard carved with Tsurumaru.
Kojiri: Silver base with linear patterns.
Menuki: High-relief carving of Tsurumaru.
