This blade belongs to Jyo saku ranking.

Habaki: Silver foiled single Habaki.
Blade length: 27.7 cm (10.91 in).
Curvature: 0 cm (0 in).
Mekugi holes: 2.
Width at base: 2.94 cm (1.16 in).
Thickness of rim (Kasane): 0.88 cm (0.35 in).
Era: Late Edo period.
Shape: Wide and thick blade, solidly constructed tanto.
Jigane: Fine koitame hada well forged with ji-nie.
Hamon: Small nie, gunome midare with rounded boshi.

Features: This tanto has been appraised as Mumei (Unsigned, attributed to Shinshinto Jyumyo) by the NBTHK. It is a thick tanto suitable for armor penetration. Such pieces were produced as the conflicts intensified towards the end of the Edo period.

Tsuba: Copper base with protruding rim.
Fuchikashira and Kojiri: Copper base engraved with plants.
Saya (Scabbard): Dark brown.
Menuki: Engraved with a circle.
Kozuka and Kogatana: Copper base engraved with a dragon.
