Explanation: Bizen Osafune Norimitsu made this Wakizashi in February 1432.
In September 1862, Fujie Kiyomitsu scoured the Togidamari part of Nakago.
(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku
Jyo saku and regular saku)
This blade belongs to Jyojyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Blade length : 38.3 cm or 15.07 inches.
Sori : 0.2 cm or 0.07 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.70 cm or 1.06 inches.
Kasane : 0.49 cm or 0.19 inches.
Era : Muromachi period, around Eikyo era.
Shape : Regular width and thickness Hiratsukuri Wakizashi.
There are Bo-Hi on the both side of the blade.
Jitetsu : Itame Hada and Mokume Hada well grained with Jinie attach.
There are Chikei and Utsuri. The Jigane is typical Ouei Bizen.
Hamon : Nie Deki, Gunome Midare and Choji Midare.
The Habuchi is bright.
Special feauture : Notimitsu school was active during Nanbokucho period
to later Muromachi period and said that the lineage of Nagamitsu.
From Aoi Art: This blade is having characteristics very similar to Ouei-Bizen so
this blade seems to be forged in Muromachi period. In nakago there is a Kiritsuke Mei.
That mentioned “Fujie Kiyomitsu scoured the Togidamari part of Nakago”.
Fujie Seijiro Kiyomitsu is a metalworker of Kaga province.
He was active at the end of Edo period.
Koshirae :
Tsuba : Shakudo Nanako Tsuba, dragon and clouds are engraved with gold color.
Fuchikashira : Shakudo Nanako plate, dragon is engraved with gold color.
Saya : Blackish brown color Fuemaki Saya.
Menuki : Solid gold plate, Hotei is engraved.
Kozuka : Shakudo Nanako plate, dragon is engraved with gold color.
Kogatana : There is a signature as Sukenao.
