He was working for Matudaira Daimyo family as a sword making Samurai.
He moved to Kuwana province with his master and then he moved to
Edo Tenpo 2 nd year.At that time he was high reputation of cut well
swords maker. some times we found his swords which was done
Saidanmei and also possession name on the tang of the blade.
Generaly speaking the quality of Munetsuga is one of the top sword
smith in late Edo period and without any faults among his swords.
This sword is registered as a tangible cultural properties of Mie prefecture.
He studied the way of cut well swords from Yamada Asaemon who was cutting tester at that time.
The reason why his many swords has Tameshiggiri swords are Yamada
asaemon tested his swords for Tameshigiri.

From Aoi-Art:This sword is a copy of the famous Kanemitsu wonderful hspe ookissaki style.
Especially the engraving on both sides of the blade was done by Yoshitsugu who engraved for
Koyama Munetsugu. On the shinshinto Taikan(page 546), almost as same sword as this sword
is mentioned. According to the tang, the engraver is Yoshitysugu .
So this sword is also engraved by Yoshitsugu.
I found some sword by Munetsugu like this Horimono which is engraved Kenmaki ryu
and same design of Bonji and Gomabashi. This sword seem Kanemitsu utsushi fantastic Horimono.
We recommend this high quality sword with nice Horimono(engraving).
