Shape: The blade has a wide body with a slight extension in length, somewhat forward curvature, and a Mitsumune (triple ridge) shape.
Jigane: The steel has a fine ko-itame grain with a soft texture, making for excellent quality.
Hamon: The temper line is a mix of nioi and nie with a midare (irregular) pattern that includes pointed gunome. The boshi (tip temper pattern) is a small round with a long return.

Features: Harima no Kami Kanetaka was a swordsmith active from the Muromachi to the early Edo period, known for producing a significant number of tantos. This piece, reminiscent of a Keicho-era Shinto tanto, is characterized by its extended length, wide body, and three ridges.

Tsuba: Carved iron in a quince shape with high relief of plants, highlighted with gold.
Saya: Black lacquered with scattered abalone shells and stripes.
Fuchikashira: Shakudo with a high relief of horses, colored with gold, which is signed by Naotsugu 直次.
Menuki: Dragons in high relief with gold coloring.
Kojiri: Silver ground with a fish roe pattern.
Seppa: Made of plain copper with gold wrapping.
Kozuka: Shakudo with a high relief of bows and arrows, colored with gold.
Kogatana: Signed by Ueno no Kami Fujiwara Kunishige
