Features:
The design depicts a kake-mamori in high relief on a shakudō nanako ground. A kake-mamori was an amulet worn around the neck by noblewomen and children during the Heian and Kamakura periods.

Horie Okishige was a late Edo-period metalsmith who studied under the 2nd-generation Hamano Masayuki and Ōmori Teruhide, and served as an official craftsman to the Hachisuka family. This work is distinguished by its elegant design and the superb quality of its delicately executed carving.
