After relocating to Edo, he established the Hojoji school. Masahiro's workmanship is particularly renowned for its close resemblance to that of the celebrated Nagasone Kotetsu, and it is believed that the two smiths maintained a close relationship. His finest works are so similar in style that they could easily be attributed to Kotetsu in appraisal. This blade displays abundant ashi, while the boshi has the characteristic appearance often likened to a viper's head (mamushi-gashira). With its substantial mihaba and kasane, the blade exhibits outstanding workmanship that strongly evokes the style of Kotetsu.
