This sword belongs to Jyo Jyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki : Gold foiled doube Habaki.
Blade length : 71.52 cm or 28.15 inches.
Sori : 1.82 cm or 0.71 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.22 cm or 1.26 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.33 cm or 0.91 inches.
Kasane : 0.68 cm or 0.26 inches.
Era : Edo period around Kansei era 1796
Shape : Wide and thick Katana with long Kissaki. Nice shape.
Jigane : Ko Itame Hada well grained with Jinie attach and Chikei. The Jigane is blackish.
Shinogi-Ji: The mixture of Ko Itame Hada and Mokume Hada with Chikei and Masa.
Hamon : Gunome Midare with thick Nioikuchi and Togari Gunome.
In Ha, there are Sunagashi and Kinsuji.
Boshi is Notare Hakikake style.
Special feature:He was a swordsmith of Satsuma province, present Kagoshima prefecture, and followed Miyahara Masachika school.
He changed his signature to ‘Hoki no kami Ason Masayuki’ at Kansei 1st (1789).
He was well known as ‘Masayuki’ and worked actively Kansei era.
‘Masayoshi’ was his first signature and this work was made when he was only 22 years old.
This sword has Itame-hada well grained and Masame-hada mixed with long Chikei work.
Hamon is active deep Nioikuchi blackish Jigane which is typical Motohira and Masayuki.
Both of them are top ranking swordsmiths at Shinshinto era in Satsuma province.
Nice Jigane consist on long Chikei and thick Jinie attach
and also active wild feeling temper line.
Koshirae :
Saya :Kawarinuri saya.
Tsuba :on the round shape iron Tsuba, Ume tree and flowers are engraved with open work. Higo school.
Menuki : dragon is engraved with gold color.
Fuchikashira; On the copper plate, Ume flowers are engraved with gold color.

sword makers are right and left wing top ranking sword makers shinto Jyo Jyo saku ranking.
The blade is almost same work like active notare gunome midare with chikei
and inside of the Hamon are working sunagashi kinsuji and also yubashiri.
I think both sword makers tried to make Shizu, Masamune utsushi.
Some swords were cut the signature and re made as Koto sword makers
like Shizu, Masamune and so on.
This sword is very long, wide and thick with deep sori and ookissaki gorgeous sword.
The Koshirae is also well balanced nice Koshirae.

Back ground of age: Syaraku is famous woodblock printer worked active
about 10 months but disappeared suddenly.
