Tsuda Echizen no Kami Sukehiro is known as one of the representative swordsmiths of the Osaka Shinto period. This work bears the signature in a block-style script.” In his later years, when he perfected the Toranba temper pattern, he began using a cursive-style signature.

Bishu Osafune Yasumitsu, together with Morimitsu, was one of the two leading swordsmiths of the Bizen swordsmith from the early Muromachi period. Although the signature is not completely preserved, this is a valuable work retaining its date inscription.
