This work ranks as Jyojyo Saku for the 3rd generation Mutsu Ju Miyoshi Nagamichi.
Habaki: Single gold-plated Habaki.
Blade Length: 59.5 cm (23.43 in).
Curvature: 0.5 cm (0.20 in).
Mekugi Hole: 1.
Width at Base (Motohaba): 3.0 cm (1.18 in).
Width at Yokote: 2.2 cm (0.87 in).
Thickness of rim (Kasane): 0.75 cm (0.30 in).
Sword Weight: 560 grams.
Era: Around the Tenpo era of the Edo period.
Shape: Slightly wide body with somewhat thick Kasane, shallow curvature, and a slightly extended Boshi.
Jigane: Itame-hada well forged with Ji-nie attached.
Hamon: Nie-deki, gunome-midare with deep nioiguchi.

Features: This is an excellent work by the 3rd generation Mutsu Ju Miyoshi Nagamichi.
The inscriptions “September 11, 1831,” “A day in August 1695,” and “Ichijiken Dotan iri Okada Yasusada” are not gold inlay inscriptions, but they carry the same meaning as a cutting test inscription.
Compared with the works of the first generation, the workmanship is in no way inferior and is truly outstanding.
It is an exceptionally well-made piece and closely resembles the finest works.

Tsuba: Shakudo nanako-ji tsuba with engraved floral designs on the rim highlighted in gold.
Fuchikashira: Shakudo nanako-ji with engraved paulownia crests highlighted in gold.
Saya (Scabbard): Black roiro lacquer saya wrapped with rice stalk husks.
Menuki: Engraved paulownia crests.
Kozuka: Shakudo ground engraved with family crests highlighted in gold.
Kogatana included: Signed “Mutsu Ju San”.
Kogai: Shakudo ground engraved with family crests highlighted in gold.
