This work is ranked as Jyojyo Saku for Mutsu Aizu ju Fujiwara Michitoki.
Habaki: Single-layer copper.
Blade Length: 69.2 cm (27.24 in).
Curvature: 1.5 cm (0.59 in).
Mekugi Hole: 1.
Width at Base (Motohaba): 2.85 cm (1.12 in).
Width at Yokote: 1.72 cm (0.68 in).
Thickness (Kasane): 0.57 cm (0.22 in).
Sword Weight: 590 g.
Shape: Standard width and thickness katana.
Bo-hi grooves are carved on both sides, and the kissaki is slightly extended.
The curvature is relatively deep.
Jigane: The jigane is well forged with visible grain, creating a pattern that at first glance gives the impression of an old sword.
Hamon: The nioiguchi is tight, forming a straight hamon, indicating excellent sharpness.
A sense of utsuri can be perceived.

Features: This work was made in August 1838 by Mutsu Aizu ju Fujiwara Michitoki, and the yaki-ire (hardening) was performed by Sumi Motooki.
Yaki-ire is one of the most delicate and crucial processes for a swordsmith, in which the reddened blade is carefully judged and quenched in water at the optimal moment for rapid cooling.
Later, on April 13, 1862, Goto Toshikage successfully performed a cutting test at Senju, which is proudly inscribed on the blade.

Tsuba: Round iron sukashi tsuba with visible tekkotsu.
Signature appears to read Shoami Yoshishige.
Fuchikashira: Shakudo nanako ground depicting a carp climbing a waterfall.
Saya (Scabbard): Black roiro lacquered saya.
Menuki: Design believed to depict a bush warbler on a plum tree.
