Features:
Sukenao was a swordsmith from Osaka in early Edo period. He studied under the first and second generations of Sukehiro and later married the younger sister of the second-generation Sukehiro, becoming an important member of the Sukehiro's school.
Like the second-generation Sukehiro, Sukenao produced works in the Toranba style, but he was also highly skilled in a variety of other styles. He is highly regarded as an accomplished swordsmith whose skill was comparable to that of Sukehiro. This work features a dynamic gunome-midare hamon in the style of Toranba, characteristic of Osaka Shinto. Fine nie are evenly present throughout, giving the blade an overall bright and beautiful appearance.
