Era: the late Kamakura period.
Shape: the blade is wide and thick. The line and suken(sword) are carved on the blade.
Jigane: gine moume-hada with jinie. There are chikei and clear utsuri in the blade. Shinogi-ji is the same.
Hamon: Niedeki-suguha with Chojimidare. Sunagashi and Kinsuji is in the hamon.

Nagamitsu was a swordsmith of the Bizen Osagune school, active in the late Kamakura period, and was the son of Mitsutada, who was the founder of Osafune. He had some famous disciples include Kagemitsu, Chikakage and Masamichi. Some swords of Nagamitsu are thought to be made by his disciples, but the quality of that are still very good. Nagamitsu has been cherished as a great sword since ancient times, and many peices with inscription remain.
