Special feature: Hoki Kami Masayuki was a son of 2 generations Ijichi Masayoshi, born in Kyoho 18 and succeeded to the 3rd generation and called himself as Masayoshi. In Kansei 1, he succeeded to Hoki Kami at the same time as Okuno Motohira, and he gave his name “Masayoshi” to his second son and called himself as Masayuki. He passed away in Bunsei 1, at the age of 86. He was more skillful than his master, and he was one of the best swordsmiths of Satsuma Shinshinto as well as Motohira. His works have broad and long blades with dynamic atmosphere and this work is one of them.

From Aoi Art: This is a wonderful piece of art with a broad and thick blade. It has Ububa left and O-Kissaki. He added rare writing of “Shin Tan Kore”(I truly forged this). We have seen some works with this signature, it is very likely that he had made these swords with greater efforts than normal swords. Lately Satsuma swords are very popular and difficult to get. We truly recommend this one for you on this opportunity.
