Aoi Art’s Comment: “Banzairaku” is the name of a Gagaku (ancient court music) piece.
It is a representative dance of Tang origin (Togaku), performed by four dancers in Heichō style wearing layered costumes with the right shoulder uncovered.
It is said to have originally come from China and imitates the sound of birds.
In the context of this sword, it likely symbolizes a joyful event or celebration.

Historical Background: Towards the end of the Edo period, warfare intensified, leading to a significant increase in sword production.
