Kozuka:(NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon Tosogu)
Signature: Eijo Saku Mitsutaka 栄乗作 光孝 (written seal mark)

Dimension: 9.75cm × 1.46cm (3.84in × 0.57in)

Era: the end of Muromachi to early Edo, 16-17th century
Features: This piece features a high-relief carving of waves and deer on a shakudō ground, enhanced with gold iroe highlights. The imaginative combination of waves and a deer is particularly unusual and distinctive. Eijō was the sixth-generation master of the Gotō family of metalworkers, active from the Azuchi–Momoyama period to the early Edo period. The inscription indicates that the work was made by the sixth-generation Gotō Eijō, and that this attribution was authenticated by the 13th-generation master, Mitsutaka.
