Special feature:
The steel is tightly forged with much ji-nie, and the gunome-midare hamon is bright and clear with a deep, well-defined nioikuchi.

An accompanying folding fan inscribed “Kokyū” is included. Amada Akitsugu was a modern swordsmith designated a Living National Treasure in 1997. The box inscription is in the hand of Akitsugu.
