Habaki: Single-layer silver-plated.
Blade Length: 73.4 cm (28.90 in).
Curvature: 1.6 cm (0.63 in).
Mekugi Hole: 2.
Width at Base (Motohaba): 2.99 cm (1.18 in).
Width at Tip (Sakihaba): 2.27 cm (0.89 in).
Thickness of rim (Kasane): 0.63 cm (0.25 in).
Sword Weight: 795 g.
Era: Edo period, around the Kanbun era (1661–1673).
Shape: Suriage with machi-okuri.
Standard width with slightly deep curvature and an extended kissaki.
Jigane: Ko-itame hada, well-forged and refined, forming a high-quality steel surface.
Hamon: Nie-deki, gunome-midare resembling wave-like motion.
The boshi turns back in a rounded form.

Features: An unsigned work reminiscent of Echizen Shinto.
The hamon is bright, clear, and beautiful.

Koshirae:
Tsuba: Round iron tsuba with openwork carving of human figures.
Fuchikashira: Iron ground with high-relief carving of lions, finished with gold highlights.
Saya (Scabbard): Black stone-textured finish.
Menuki: Carved lion design.

Aoi Art’s Comment: This work is thought to have originally been quite long when it was first made.
It is considered to be a work from the Echizen area around the Kanbun era of the Edo period.
