The workmanship of this piece is ranked as Jyo Saku for Nagamitsu.
Habaki: Single silver.
Blade Length: 66.4 cm (26.14 in).
Curvature: 1.7 cm (0.67 in).
Mekugi Hole: 1.
Width at Base (Motohaba): 3.33 cm (1.31 in).
Width at Yokote (Sakihaba): 2.21 cm (0.87 in).
Thickness of rim (Kasane): 0.76 cm (0.30 in).
Sword Weight: 765 g.
Era: Showa period.
Shape: With solid mihaba and kasane, slightly deep curvature and an extended kissaki. A very healthy piece with ubu condition remaining.
Jigane: An उत्कृष्ट-quality jigane, extremely well refined.
Hamon: From the hamachi, nie-deki gunome-midare, becoming suguha toward the tip. The boshi returns in komaru.

Features: Nagamitsu was an Army-appointed swordsmith (Rikugun Jumei Tosho) who was selected in the Army Sword Technique Encouragement Association. He signed as “Nagamitsu” and “Ichiryushi Nagamitsu.” He is also known for producing Japanese swords inside a prison. Shigetaro Emura, the warden of Okayama Prison, invited Ichiryushi Nagamitsu, a swordsmith from the same prefecture, and had prisoners assist in sword production as part of their rehabilitation.
