Features:
Nagamitsu was a Rikugun Jumei Tosho (Army-appointed swordsmith) who was selected for the Army Sword Technique Encouragement Association exhibitions. He signed his works with inscriptions such as “Nagamitsu” and “Ichiryūshi Nagamitsu.”

He is also sometimes called “Kangoku Nagamitsu” (Prison Nagamitsu) because it is said that he was invited by the director of Okayama Prison, Emura Shigetaro, and forged Japanese swords together with prisoners inside the prison. However, the details are not clearly known.
