Special Feature:
The design of the Zen monk Fenggan, along with Hanshan and Shide, is engraved on a Shibuichi plate.
The figure depicted with a tiger on the fuchi is Fenggan, a Zen monk from the Tang dynasty. The figures on the kashira are his disciples, the Zen monks Hanshan and Shide. The three are said to have withdrawn from the mundane world and enjoyed a life in the mountains, embodying enlightenment beyond worldly conventions.
While the authenticity of the signature is unclear, I find it to be a beautifully crafted piece
