Habaki: Single silver habaki.
Blade Length: 2 shaku 3 sun 6 bu 5 rin — 71.6 cm (28.19 in).
Curvature: 6 bu 5 rin — 1.9 cm (0.75 in).
Mekugi Hole: 1.
Width at Base (Motohaba): 2.98 cm (1.17 in).
Width at Yokote: 2.32 cm (0.91 in).
Thickness of rim (Kasane): 0.66 cm (0.26 in).
Sword Weight: 760 g.
Era: Late Kamakura period.
Shape: An o-suriage blade with machi-okuri and a bohi. It has a large kissaki and deep curvature.
Jigane: Well-forged ko-itame hada with clearly visible surface grain.
Hamon: Nioi-deki gunome-midare. The boshi returns with a pointed tendency.
Features: Although the sayagaki by Takase Ugao attributes this blade to Sadayoshi of Chikuzen Province, the Japanese Sword Museum (NBTHK) attributes it to Osafune Shigemasa. The jigane displays a prominent surface grain that is clearly visible, making the attribution to Osafune Shigemasa appear more convincing. Shigemasa was active from the late Kamakura period to the early Nanbokucho period and is said to have been either the younger brother or a disciple of Motoshige, with a closely related style of workmanship.
Koshirae: Han-tachi mounting.
Tsuba: Iron tsuba with openwork plum tree design, decorated with gold highlights.
Menuki: Butterfly motif with gold iroe.
Fuchi: Iron with engraved characters.
Kashira: Iron carved with arabesque scrolls.
Saya (Scabbard): Black ishime-style lacquered saya decorated with a family crest in gold, with carved decoration on the upper section.
