Blade Length: 17.6 cm (6.93 in).
Curvature: Uchizori (inward curvature).
Mekugi Hole: 3 (2 of them are connected).
Width at Base (Motohaba): 1.54 cm (0.61 in).
Thickness of rim (Kasane): 0.96 cm (0.38 in).
Sword Weight: 0.96 g.
Era: Mid to late Muromachi period.
Shape: A rather short tanto with exceptionally thick kasane and a mitsumune (three-sided ridge) construction.
Jigane: Well-forged ko-itame hada with distinct whitish utsuri.
Hamon: Nioi-deki with small gunome-midare. The boshi returns in a small rounded form.
Features: Although this blade bears the signature Rai Kunimitsu, we consider the signature to be gimei (false signature). This tanto is an yoroi-doshi, characterized by its exceptionally thick kasane and robust construction.
Koshirae: Aikuchi koshirae.
Saya (Scabbard) and Tsuka (Hilt): Decorated with bamboo leaves in gold maki-e.
Warikogai: Wooden.
