Kawachi no Kami Fujiwara Kunisuke was a swordsmith from Ise Province.
He studied under Horikawa Kunihiro in Kyoto and, after Kunihiro's death, worked in Osaka together with his fellow student, the first-generation Kunisada.
He exerted a strong influence on the Osaka swordsmith tradition.
Based on his workmanship, his practical teacher is said to have been his fellow disciple Echigo no Kami Kunitomo.
Many of his works resemble those of the first-generation Kunisada, particularly in their fine ko-mokume forging pattern.
