Appraisal Quiz #894

Previous answer is
Unsigned (Mumei) (Nariie 成家)

Features: Nariie of the Bizen Osafune school is said to have been a descendant of Kagehide, the younger brother of Mitsutada. He is traditionally regarded as belonging to the kozori group (a term referring to Osafune smiths outside the Kanemitsu lineage). However, as seen in this work, his style shows similarities to that of Kanemitsu, and the overall form appears more robust than typical late Nanbokuchō examples, suggesting a somewhat earlier period. These characteristics may indicate a connection with Kanemitsu. The Jūyō zufu commentary notes his skill as being equal to, if not surpassing Masamitsu of the Kanemitsu school.
