Hamon: Ko-nie base Gunome and Notare with much Sunagashi.

The 1st-generation Yamashiro-no-kami Kunikiyo was the 3rd generation of Shimada Sukemune and studied under Horikawa Kunihiro in Kyoto. After Kunihiro’s death, he served Matsudaira Tadamasa in Echizen. He received the title Yamashiro Daijō in 1627 and Yamashiro-no-kami in 1628 along with permission to carve the chrysanthemum crest on the tang.
