Habaki: Solid copper single-layer with gold iro-e.
Blade Length: 53.7 cm (21.14 in).
Curvature: 1.0 cm (0.39 in).
Mekugi Hole: 1.
Width at Base (Motohaba): 2.97 cm (1.17 in).
Width at Yokote (Sakihaba): 2.06 cm (0.81 in).
Thickness (Kasane): 0.61 cm (0.24 in).
Sword Weight: 545 g.
Shape: Wide and thick blade with bohi carved on both sides, and a slightly elongated kissaki.
Jigane: Well-forged ko-itame hada.
Hamon: Nie-deki, with deep nioiguchi gunome-midare.
It evokes the atmosphere of white clouds floating in the sky.

Features: Hizen no Kuni Saga ju Masahiro (First Generation) was the son of Yoshinobu, commonly called Sadenjiro, later known as Tohichibee.
His initial name was Masanaga, and in Kaei 2 (1849) he changed his name to Masahiro.
In Kaei 5 (1852) he received the title of Kawachi Daijo.
He passed away on February 5, Kanbun 5 (1665), at the age of 59.

Fuchikashira: Shakudo ground engraved with crests.
Saya (Scabbard): Brown variegated lacquered saya.
Menuki: Lion design.
Kozuka: Solid copper nanako ground engraved with plants.

Aoi Art’s Comment: This work is by the First Generation Masahiro, made in Kanei 9 (1632).
It was created when Masahiro was about 26 years old, during the height of his vigor.
