The workmanship of this sword is ranked as Jyojyo Saku for Heianjo Fujiwara Kunitsugu.
Habaki: Solid Copper Single Habaki.
Blade Length: 46.1 cm (18.15 in).
Curvature: 1.2 cm (0.47 in).
Mekugi Hole: 1.
Width at Base (Motohaba): 3.24 cm (1.28 in).
Thickness (Kasane): 0.67 cm (0.26 in).
Sword Weight: 460 g.
Era: Edo period, around Kanbun era (1661–1673).
Shape: A wakizashi with wide mihaba and thick kasane, with bo-hi carved on both sides.
Jigane: Ko-itame hada well forged, forming a fine and refined jigane.
Hamon: Nioi-deki and Aranie in Monouchi area. Gunome-midare with active irregularities toward the kissaki and a pointed kaeri.
The curvature is deep.
Careful observation reveals kinsuji.

Features: Heianjo Fujiwara Kunitsugu was originally from Echizen.
He studied under Dewa Daijo Kunimichi, lived in Kyoto, and later is said to have moved to Kumamoto in Kyushu.
There are relatively few works considered to be his confident masterpieces.
