Explanation from Juyo Zufu:
Crafted from shakudō, this piece showcases saddle, stirrups, and other horse gear in high-relief, applied in a sukimono (mounted motif) style. Various sections are further enriched with uttori gold inlay, enhancing the depth and elegance of the design. The piece is relatively large in form, with a remarkable shakudō patina and brilliantly executed gold inlay, creating an overall striking effect.

This is a solid and substantial sword fitting, crafted before the Edo period. It has been authenticated as "Ko-Gotō", meaning it belongs to the early Gotō school. This distinguished piece is attributed to one of the first three generations of the Gotō mainline family—Gotō Yūjō (1st generation), Gotō Sōjō (2nd generation), or Gotō Jōshin (3rd generation)—and represents a work of exceptional dignity and refinement.
