Habaki: Silver single-layered
Blade Length: 68.7 cm (27.05 in)
Curvature: 1.4 cm (0.55 in)
Mekugi Hole: 1
Width at Base (Motohaba): 3.00 cm (1.18 in)
Width at Tip (Sakihaba): 2.21 cm (0.87 in)
Thickness of rim (Kasane): 0.64 cm (0.25 in)
Sword Weight: 755 g
Shape: The blade has a wide body, slightly thick kasane, and an extended kissaki.
Jigane: Well-visible hada with prominent chikei and clearly appearing utsuri.
Hamon: Identical on both sides from the hamachi upward, made in suguha style with fine kinsuji activity. The boshi enters in midare style.
Features: Upon close inspection, the workmanship suggests the smith was highly skilled. The somewhat obscured inscription of “Muramasa” likely imitates the Tokugawa clan’s historical dislike of Muramasa, intentionally making the name hard to read. The color and treatment of the nakago are also carefully executed. It appears the maker deliberately crafted this blade to emulate Muramasa from the outset. This is evident in the jigane, the state of the utsuri, the matching hamon near the hamachi on both sides, and the shape of the kissaki.
