Nochi ni Noshu ni utsuri, Mino-den no genryu no hitori to narite hon-saku wa itame ga o-moyou ni hadatite ji-nie ga atsuku, futoi chikei iri, jibana o majiete kuromi-gakaru hadaai wa Hokurikubutsu toriwake Norishige kishitsu ga ukagaware wan ga sakan ni midarete gunome o majie nie, nioi fukaku atsuku, shikamo sunagashi, kinsuji, yubashiri o ashirau hamon kara doko ni shuren sareru yuhin nari.

Wazamono: Jyo Saku.
A swordsmith of Etchu, said to be a disciple of Go Yoshihiro and also of Norishige, and well known as a Wazamono smith.
(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo Saku, Jyojyo Saku, Jyo Saku and Regular Saku).
The workmanship of this piece is ranked as Jyojyo Saku for Mumei(Unsigned) (Den Tameketsu).

Habaki: Gold-plated double.
Blade Length: 67.8 cm (26.69 in).
Curvature: 1.8 cm (0.71 in).
Mekugi Hole: 2.
Width at Base (Motohaba): 3.08 cm (1.21 in).
Thickness of rim (Kasane): 0.45 cm (0.18 in).
Sword Weight: 720 g.

Era: Nanbokucho period, around Oan (1368).
Shape: Wide mihaba with thick kasane, a piece in naginata-naoshi style.
Jigane: Well-forged itame with abundant ji-nie.
Hamon: Nie-deki, gunome-midare. Sunagashi and kinsuji are actively working in the ha, boshi returns in komaru. The nioiguchi is deep and forms a soft, mist-like activity.

Features: Tameketsu is said to be the son of Go Yoshihiro and a disciple of Norishige, active in the mid-Nanbokucho period. This work shows well-forged jigane typical of the Nanbokucho period. The hamon has a soft, deep, bright nioiguchi with active sunagashi and kinsuji. It is a work comparable to Norishige perfected in the Soshu tradition, and the nakago color is also excellent.
