This blade is ranked as Jyo Saku among the works of Ietsugu (Kashu).
Habaki: Double copper habaki.
Blade Length: 62.8 cm (24.72 in).
Curvature: 1.2 cm (0.47 in).
Mekugi Hole: 3.
Width at Base (Motohaba): 2.89 cm (1.14 in).
Width at Yokote: 2.05 cm (0.81 in).
Thickness of rim (Kasane): 0.62 cm (0.24 in).
Sword Weight: 600 g.
Era: Late Muromachi period.
Shape: A katana with substantial mihaba and kasane, slightly shorter in length, and a slightly extended kissaki, giving it a well-balanced appearance.
Jigane: Well-forged itame hada with a clearly visible grain structure.
Hamon: Nie-deki gunome-midare. The boshi is slightly rounded with a deep return.

Features: Several generations of Kashu Ietsugu are known to have worked from around the Eisho era (1504–1521) through the end of the Muromachi period. This lineage, founded by Sanekage, belonged to the Hashizume School and is commonly referred to as Kaga Aoe.

Koshirae:
Tsuba: Round iron tsuba carved with bamboo leaves.
Fuchikashira: High-relief carving of figures and flowers, decorated with gold iroe.
Saya (Scabbard): Aogai (mother-of-pearl) sprinkled saya.
Menuki: Roof tile motif carved with the Mitsudomoe crest.

Aoi Art’s Comment: This Ietsugu is considered to be the work of a swordsmith active during the late Muromachi period.
