Oumi Daijo Fujiwara Tadahiro was the son of the 1st-generation Tadayoshi. After his father’s death, works bearing his signature began to appear from 1633) and in 1641, at the age of 29, he received the title of Omi Daijo. Throughout his life, he never succeeded to the name “Tadayoshi,” and instead signed his works as “Tadahiro.” Until his death at the age of 80 in 1693, he continued swordsmithing for approximately 60 years, producing a large number of works with a wide variety of styles. He is said to have possessed the finest jigane among Hizen swords, and is highly regarded as a master smith second only to his father, Tadayoshi.

Yamano Kaemon Nagahisa served as an official sword-cutting tester and also acted as an executioner responsible for carrying out beheadings. Test cutting was performed using the bodies of executed criminals. Outstanding work.

From Aoi-Art: The suguha hamon is richly covered with nie, and within the deep nioiguchi that appears almost misty, various activities can be observed.
