This blade is ranked as Jyojyo Saku among the works of Fujiwara Masayasu (Masatomo).
Habaki: Single plain copper habaki with gold iroe.
Blade Length: 75.4 cm (29.69 in).
Curvature: 0.7 cm (0.28 in).

Width at Base (Motohaba): 3.20 cm (1.26 in).
Width at Yokote: 2.20 cm (0.87 in).
Thickness of rim (Kasane): 0.78 cm (0.31 in).
Sword Weight: 945 g.
Era: Around the Kanbun era (1661–1673), Edo period.
Shape: A robust katana with a wide mihaba, thick kasane, and shallow curvature. The kissaki is slightly elongated. The blade has approximately 3 cm (1.18 in) of machi-okuri.
Jigane: Well-forged ko-itame hada with a beautifully refined surface.
Hamon: Nie-deki gunome-midare. The boshi turns back in a small rounded form (komaru).

Features: Masayasu (also read as Masatomo) was originally from Mino Province and later moved to Owari Province. He belonged to the Sakakura-Seki lineage and produced finely made blades of excellent quality. His works are generally characterized by their solid and robust construction.

Koshirae:
Tsuba: Iron tsuba carved with chrysanthemum blossoms.
Fuchikashira: Iron fittings inlaid with silver arabesque designs.
Saya (Scabbard): Decoratively lacquered saya.
Menuki: Plain copper menuki carved with lion motifs.

Aoi Art’s Comment: This is a healthy and well-preserved blade of exceptionally solid construction. Weighing 945 g, it conveys the impression of outstanding cutting ability.
