Shigenaga was a metalsmith active in the late Edo period.
This piece is crafted from solid gold with an ishime-textured surface, featuring a high-relief depiction of the legendary “Rashōmon” scene, in which the warrior Watanabe no Tsuna confronts a demon. The details are further enhanced with fine inlay work.
