Taira Nagamori 平長盛
Features: Taira Nagamori was a swordsmith of the Takada school in Bungo Province. Although there are no dated works, it is said that two or three generations existed from around the Choroku era(1457-1460) of the early Muromachi period. According to the Juyo certificate, this piece is attributed to the first generation. He appears to have been highly skilled in carving, and many of his works featuring carvings have been preserved.

Curvature: 1.52 cm (0.60 in).
Mekugi Hole: 2.
Width at Base (Motohaba): 2.91 cm (1.15 in).
Width at Tip: 1.89 cm (0.74 in).
Thickness (Kasane): 0.61 cm (0.24 in).
Sword Weight: 550 g.
Shape: Both width and thickness are healthy, with bohi grooves carved on both sides, and an extended kissaki, giving a well-proportioned shape.
Jigane: The jigane is a well-forged ko-itame hada, tightly packed and refined, with faint utsuri appearing.
Hamon: Based on notare, mixed with gunome-midare and ko-gunome-midare. The nioiguchi is deep, with well-defined ko-ashi. Sunagashi and yubashiri are present.
