Features: Takada is a school of swordsmiths that flourished in Takada, Bungo Province, founded by Taira Nagamori.
Works attributed to Takada are divided among various smiths, and their styles range from Ichimonji-like works to highly refined pieces, requiring careful evaluation.
This blade is considered to be from around the mid Muromachi period. The jigane is particularly beautiful. The boshi shows irregular midare, indicating a well-crafted piece. It is a sword with an elegant shape.

Curvature: 5 bu 5 rin cm.
Mekugi Hole: 1.
Width at Base (Motohaba): 2.91 cm (1.15 in).
Thickness of rim (Kasane): 0.85 cm (0.33 in).
Sword Weight: 460 g.
Shape: Wakizashi in shobu-zukuri style with bohi carved on both sides; on the omote a splendid Shin no Kurikara is carved, and on the ura a sanko-ken is carved.
Jigane: Ko-itame hada well forged, with shirake utsuri appearing.
Hamon: Nie-deki, bright and clear suguha.
