Special feature: Dotanuki school was active in the late Muromachi period with Kiyokuni and Masakuni as its two most prominent figures. Those using the name Dotanuki are Hyoby, Matahachi, and Uemon etc.
They all served Kiyomasa Kato as swordsmiths, but it is thought that their business was discontinued with the fall of the Kato family.
Toward the end of the Edo period, it is said that Yamato Kami Masakatsu, Hiromune father and son, and others reestablished their ancestral businesses.

Nikuoki(thickness of the blade at the back), and a slightly deep curve with an extended kissaki (point). It exhibits a well-balanced form.
Jihada (Grain Pattern on the Blade Surface): texture is coarse, and the grain pattern is clearly visible.
Hamon (Temper Line): Nie Deki, Gunome Midare Hamon.
Boshi is Midarekomi and small round shape.
