Mumei (Den Shigezane)

Special feature: Bizen koku Osafune school Shigezane is said
to be the younger brother of Motoshige.
He has made sword from Kareki to Enpo era(1326-1360).
The hamon is sakasa choji irregular line katana.
This sword is in spectacular shape .
This sword also has similar characteristics of Motoshige
and has the feeling of Aoe element.
There are flows of Itame hada with some Kitae Kizu.
slight white grain spot seen on Bizen swords and utsuri seen.
The choji is in opposite pattern(sakasa) and the boushi is wildly mixed.
The activities in the ha and the edge of ha is active. Boushi is
brush up style shape end. It is strong looking sword, high quality piece.

Sori : 2.2 cm or 0.86 inches.
Mekugi :  3
Width at the hamachi : 2.74 cm or 1.07 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.81 cm or 0.71 inches.
Kasane : 0.72 cm or 0.28 inches.
Shape : The blade is regular width and thick
with deep sori and longer kissaki nice looking shape.
ined with jinie attach and chikei work.
Jigane :Itame hada and mokume hada well grained
with jinie attach and chikei work
active visible to see the texture.
Hamon : konie deck kogunome midair and kocyoji midare
mixed and inside of the hamon, small kinsuji work.
Bo-shi is midarekomi with kinsuji along with hamon.
