Special feature: First generation Munetsugu was born at Mutsu
Shirakawa province as a son of Koyama Munehira. His name was Soubei.
He was working for Matudaira Daimyo family as a sword making Samurai.
He moved to Kuwana province with his master and then he moved to
Edo Tenpo 2 nd year.At that time he was high reputation of cut well
swords maker. some times we found his swords which was done
Saidanmei and also possession name on the tang of the blade.
Generaly speaking the quality of Munetsuga is one of the top sword
smith in late Edo period and without any faults among his swords.
This sword is registered as a tangible cultural properties of Mie prefecture.
He studied the way of cut well swords from Yamada Asaemon who was cutting tester at that time.
The reason why his many swords has Tameshiggiri swords are Yamada
asaemon tested his swords for Tameshigiri.

Blade length : 62.4 cm or 24.6inches.
Sori :1.0cm or 0.394 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.23cm or 1.272 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.32 cm or 0.91 inches.
Kasane : 0.61cm or 0.24 inches.
Shape : The blade is rather short and wide and thick
with longer kissaki nice volume healthy blade.
Jigane :Koitame hada and mokume hada mixed
with jinie attach and chikei work marvelous fine texture.
Hamon :Niedeki with deep nioikuchi gunome midare and Doranba hamon
with ashi work soft feeling nhabuchi.
The hamon is bright and clear which is yuki no muragie.
The scene looks like melting snow on the leaves’s edge.
In Hamon, there are sunagashi and kinsuji scatter in Ha.
