Hizen Ju Harima Daijo Fujiwara Tadakuni(first generation)

Special feature:He was born in 1598 as a son of Yoshiie. Yoshiie was also a swordsmith of Hizen province. Tadakuni was a pupil of Tadayoshi the First who consolidated the foundations of Hizen-to. Tadakuni was designated Harima Daijo in 1634 at the age of 37. At the same time he started to make sword for the domain of Ogi in Hizen province. He passed away in 1691, aged 94. He was very good at gunome-midare hamon with deep nioi-kuchi and his sword was ranked
at Shinto-Josaku.

Sori : 2.3 cm or 0.90 inches.
Mekugi : 3.
Width at the hamachi : 2.75cm or 1.08 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.03cm or 0.79 inches.
Kasane : 0.6 cm or 0.23 inches.
Shape : The blade is oosuriage mumei(cut shortened)
with regular widthm thickness with deep sori wonderful shape.
Jigane :Itame hada and ooitame hada with jinie attach chikei work
well grained texture which is called Chirimon hada.
Shinogiji:Itame hada and ooitame hada mixed.
Hamon :Niedeki suguha with ashi and Yo scatter.
In Hamon, there are sunagashi, kinsuji work.
Boshi is midarekomi style with yo and ashi.
