Special feature:he Aoe School had been prospered at the lower reaches of the Takanashi river in Bichu province.
This katana shows distinctive feature of Aoe school though nakago has no signature and o-suriage.
The Aoe School, regarded Yasutsugu in the middle Heian period
as the founder had been prospered at the lower reaches of the Takanashi River
in Bichu province. Swordsmiths of Aoe School forged quite a few o-naginata
in late Kamakura period to early Nambokucho period.
According to the Jyuyo zufu, the blade was made at Kamakura period.

Blade length :69.2 cm or 27.24 inches.
Sori :1.6cm or 0.63inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.05cm or 1.2 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1,95 cm or 0.77 inches.
Kasane : 0.76cm or 0.3inches.
Shape : The blade is rather wide and thick with deep sori and longer kissaki
On both sides of the blade Bo-hi and Souhi are engraved.
Jigane :Itame hada and mokume hada moxed
with jinie attach and chikei work.
The jikgane is visible to see the texture.
Hamon :The hamon is koniedeki cyojiji midare
with thick nioikuchi and in Ha, there are many sunagashi and kinsuji work.
Boshi is midarekomi Togari boshi and turns back like
Koto Cyogi soden bizen.
