Muramasa (the 2nd generation)

Special feature : Hamon are symmetry on both sides left and right. Jigane is strong Itame hada Masanagare. Those are the typical characteristic of Muramasa blade.
Muramasa lived at Ise province and forged many cut well swords which were high reputated from Mikawa Samurai.
Muramasa the first generation was a son of Seki Kanemura and made swords and Tanto from Eisho era to Tenbun era.
According to the tales, Muramasa blades cursed to Tokugawa Shogunate.
Especially the sword which assisted Harakiri of Tokugawa Nobuyasum the father of Ieyasu. Tokugawa Ieyasu feared and ordered to reject any Muramasa blades around him. Daimyo faithful to Shogunate avoided Muramasa or removed the signature.
Many people still believe Muramasa as mysterious and marvelous swords.
Even if the signature has been removed, the value of the Muramasa never go down.
But this Yari is having clear genuine signature of Muramasa the second generation remaining on the tang.

Shape : The long, wide, thick blade with suitable curve and long
Kissaki. Bo-hi engraved on both sides of the blade. The blade is Mitsumune style and Hamachi is long.
Jigane : Itame-hada and Oitame-hada mixed with Jinie attach and Chikei work which is called Hijiki hada.
Hamon : Niedeki Notare Gunome-midare with deep Nioikuchi and soft Habuchi and in Hamon, there are many Sunagashi, Kinsuji scatter and Midarekomi style Boshi with Hakikake and Sunagashi Kinsuji work very active.
