Sasshu Ju Masayoshi/Ansei 6(1777)

Special feature : Sasshu Ju Masayoshi is a son of the Ichiji Masayoshi and borned at Kyoho 18th.
succeeded 3rd generation and named Masayoshi.
Kansei first year, he got the name Hoki Kami. At Bunsei first year he passed awaay age 86.
He was highest sword makers as Two finest works in satuma blade at that time.
Generally early stage of his work remind us Inou Shinkai which is wide deep nioikuchi suguha hamon.
This sword is wide and thick very healthy blade with sunagashi, kinsuji powerful energy.
I think the blade is one of the top ranking his work.
The nakago is very clear nice condition. recently it is hard to buy Satuma blade because many sword collectors buy Satsuma blade.

Blade length : 65.15 cm or 25.64 inches.
Sori : 2.85 cm or 1.12 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 3.01 cm or 1.18 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.04 cm or 0.80 inches.
Kasane : 0.52 cm or 0.20 inches.
Shape : Ubu Nakago with a curve. The blade is elegant shape with deep Sori.
Jigane : The mixture of Ko-Itame Hada and Mokume Hada with Jinie attached.
There are Utsuri.
Hamon : Nioi Deki, Ko-Gunome Midare with Ko-Choji Midare. The Nioikuchi is thick. Boshi is round shape. Habuchi is soft.
