Hizen koku Saga Ju Masahiro (First generation)

Special feature : Masahiro was born as the son of Yoshinobu.
First he was called Masanaga however changed his name to Masahiro at Kanei 2nd year(1625) November.
At Kanei 5th year(1628), he has received the name of Kawachidaijyo.
At Kanbun 5th year(1665), he has passed away at the age of 59.
Being one of the assistant of Oumidaijyo Tadahiro of head Hashimoto family, he has left unique swords.
The deep nioiguchi gunome midare piece reminds us of the summer clouds. This sword could be a sword
of Kanei 13th year when he was 26th. This is a masterpiece of Masahiro with many activities such as
kinsuji. It is in strikingly good condition.

Blade length : 70cm or 27.56inches.
Sori : 1.2cm or 0.47inches.
Mekugi: 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.23cm or 3.23inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.36cm or 0.93inches.
Kasane : 0.71cm or 0.28 inches.
Weight of only blade:860g
Shape : It is wide(3.23cm!) and thick magnificent looking katana
with slight sori. It is long end katana.
Jitetsu : Koitame hada well grained with jinie attached.
There are chikei works seen which as whole impression gives us that it is dark jigane.
Hamon : Nie base with deep nioiguchi. From the hamachi it is suguha
with some gunome midare following.
There are ups and downs in the gunome midair line. There are some coarse nie.
There are sunanagashi , kinsuji works. The boushi is round ended.
