Houki Kami Taira Ason Masayuki/Bunka 3nen Tora 2 gates 73 sai zo(February 1806, age of 73)

Special feature : Hoki no kami Taira Ason Masayuki and Motohira both twin jewels in Satsuma province. He learned the technique of sword making from his father Masayoshi and beyond his skill and made many attractive swords. From Kyoho 18 until Bunsei 2nd, he lived 87 years of ages achieved his long life.
This blade has very nice Horimono (engrave) Kenmakiryu (a dragon is twisting on the Ken and trying to swallow the Ken).
The blade looks Soshu Shizu school which has a lot of activities sunagashi and kinsuji.The Hamon both closely resemble typical Motohira’s work.

Blade length : 70.2 cm or 27.63inches.
Sori : 1.9cm or 0.75inches.
Mekugi: 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.9cm or 1.14inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1cm or 0.39inches.
Kasane : 0.61cm or 0.24inches.
Weight of only blade:670g
Shape : It is wide and normal thickness.
The curve is deep and the kissaki is long ended.
Jitetsu :Koitame had well grained with jinie attached.
It is beautiful Jigane.
Hamon :Nie ground gunome midare mix. The deep nioiguchi reminds us of the summer clouds.
Ashi is softly attached. There are active sunagashi and kinsuji works seen. Especially the long
kissaki is excellent. Boushi round end notare style.
