Features: Edo-period sword books such as "Kokon Meizukushi" list Noriyoshi as one of the Masamune Juttetsu (the ten great students of Masamune).
However, judging from the shape of his tachi and tanto, and the existence of works dated Showa (1312–1317) and Gen'o (1319–1321), it is considered reasonable to accept the theory in Muromachi-period sword books that he was a student of Shintogo Kunimitsu, and he is regarded as a fellow student of Masamune.
The workmanship appears to be modeled on Ko-Bizen and Ko-Hoki, with a boldly patterned, prominent jihada forming matsukawa hada, and beautiful, bright nie with an antique appearance applied thickly and clearly.
This is an excellent piece.

Thickness of rim (Kasane): 0.79 cm (0.31 in).
Sword Weight: 1,055 g.
Shape: A long katana with a wide mihaba, thick kasane, and a pronounced funbari, giving it a powerful and imposing appearance.
Jigane: Well-forged itame hada, tightly forged and mixed with mokume and flowing grain. Fine ji-nie is evenly distributed throughout the surface.
Hamon: Beginning with suguha at the hamachi, the hamon gradually transitions into a notare-based pattern mixed with small gunome. Toward the tip, larger gunome, angular elements, and pointed gunome appear, creating a highly varied composition. Tobiyaki and muneyaki are also present. Numerous ko-ashi and yō are visible, together with kinsuji and sunagashi. The boshi on the omote is gently notare, returning with a slightly pointed tip in a Mishina-style appearance. On the ura, the boshi is a small notare ending in an ōmaru-style turnback, extending deeply and finishing with hakikake.
