Habaki: Single-layer silver habaki.

Era: Edo period, around the Kanbun era (1661-1673).
Shape: A well-proportioned work with a wide mihaba.
Jigane: Fine ko-itame hada, well forged.
Hamon: Nie-deki, undulating hamon mixed with gunome-midare.
It gives the impression of looking at cumulus clouds floating in a blue sky.
The nioiguchi is deep, resulting in a highly refined work.

Features: This is a NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon Token wakizashi by Hishu Kawachi no Kami Fujiwara Masahiro.
Hizen Kawachi no Kami Masahiro forged deep nioiguchi suguha, gunome-midare, and large gunome-midare, giving his works a character distinct from other Hizen swords.
The characteristic features of Masahiro are well expressed in this piece.
