Founded by Ko-Nyūdō Kunimitsu in the late Kamakura period, the school included smiths such as Kunifusa, Kunimune, and Kunitsugu. Works made prior to the Ōei era (from 1394) in the early Muromachi period are referred to as Ko-Uda, while those made thereafter are called Uda.
