Era: Muromachi period, around Tenbun (1532–1555).
Shape: Wide width and solid thickness with an extended kissaki.
Jigane: Itame hada well packed, with some areas where the jihada appears rough.
Hamon: Ko-nie deki, forming a small gunome-midare pattern.
Features: Katsuie was a swordsmith of Kaga.
This work by Katsuie is considered to be around the 4th generation, dating to the Tenbun era (1532–1555).

Tsuba: Round iron tsuba carved with waves and a dragon, signed Choshu ju Tomohisa.
Fuchikashira: Iron ground carved with a cloud design.
Saya (Scabbard): Aogai chirashi saya decorated with a dragon design and tip pattern painted in black.
Menuki: Dragon design carved and colored with gold.
